The buying of acedemic text books is now a lucrative business and more can be made selling your college books if you do so immediately after your need for them is complete. Amazon may be the better choice in saving on fees, but you are likely to receive little interest in your book and may have to undercut other sellers in order to sell your text book quickly. In both cases, you will have to factor in the cost of shipping the books. Another auction site is Yabexe.com. Yabexe has no listing fees and keeps only a few pennies on each dollar of your sale (about 3%). It was created in answer to the high fees eBay charges and has slowly been gaining momentum. It is a good place to list your books even if you list them elsewhere.
You may want to look into companies that buy text books back from students. One such company will buy your used text books and will even pay for the shipping charges. Though there are other companies also in the business of buying used text books, Campus has one of the best reputations and seems to pay the highest prices for text books. The free shipping is also a great bonus. Campus also has textbooks for sale and you can take your payment to put toward future textbooks you will need. It is a simple and easy transaction. My daughter found it much easier and I found it less expensive than ordering through the college bookstore.
